“Bolin”, 30x30in, oil on canvas, 2018
“Bolin” is directly relating to fashion and the confidence and poise that the models seem to demonstrate in their poses. I always find inspiration in these depictions, but mostly because I tend to look into the eyes of the models (in the photos or on the runway); I like the idea of exploring the deeper presence of their beings. I happen to love fashion and all of the immense creativity that goes into the concepts. But I also love the way design houses choose to portray their fashions. It’s just fascinating! Some I like, some I don’t, but I don’t know any man or woman who isn’t impacted in some way by fashion (well there may be SOME exceptions…). More than anything, though, I just feel completely inspired by it all.
