ARTIST RECEPTION: THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 6TH, 2014 6-9PM

Jennifer Norback Fine Art is honored to announce that the newest exhibition from celebrated fine artist René Romero Schuler “Chosen”, will be moving to VIVO 836 W. Randolph St, Chicago, IL 60607 for an extension of her exhibition with curator, Jennifer Norback Fine Art.

The Artist Reception will feature HAVEN, a three-piece musical ensemble including Lindsay Kesselman (soprano), Kimberly Cole Luevano (clarinet), and Midori Koga (piano), a performance inspired by the work of René Romero Schuler. Whether it is in a living room, an art gallery, or a concert hall, HAVEN seeks to invite audiences into the intimate and powerful world of new music performance so that all might emerge open to new possibilities, connected to each other, and transformed for the wider world.

“This is my most personal series yet. In the past, much of my work reflected on my childhood feelings of isolation and were an outward expression of some of my deepest emotions. But with this series, I have found inspiration from those who are nearest and dearest to me – the chosen ones in my life who I draw my strength from. My hope is that these pieces will touch the hearts of those who view them as much as they have touched mine.”

“Chosen” is Schuler’s first solo exhibition in Chicago since 2012′s “Shadows,” which opened to critical and commercial acclaim. In the past decade, she has become one of the most distinguished and well-collected contemporary artists to emerge from the Midwest. Her paintings and sculptures of provocative works that convey strength, vulnerability, and a holistic view of beauty are in the permanent collections of museums and many public and private venues internationally and in the past year she has been invited to take part in solo and group exhibitions in Paris, Greece, Beirut, Miami, and Napa Valley.

This show is part of A Partnership Between Artist & Artisan - a collaboration between Schuler and Terlato Family Vineyards in Napa Valley. Other projects through this collaboration include Schuler hand-painting 21 bottles of Terlato Family Vineyards 2009 Stags Leap District Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as the ongoing exhibition, “Cameo,”in Chimney Rock Winery through November.

“Chosen” will show through December at VIVO.
